Ms. Logose Juliet is a passionate human rights defender with more than fifteen years of relevant professional knowledge, experience and skills in human rights investigations, research, monitoring, reporting, education, analysis and advocacy. She possesses good interpersonal, communication and decision making skills, with tested leadership qualities. She is self-driven, dedicated to work, a team player and an advocate of rule of law and good governance.

Ms. Logose joined Uganda Human Rights Commission in May, 2007 as a volunteer- investigations and due to her outstanding performance, she was confirmed in the Commission Service as a Human Rights Officer/Investigations in November, 2008.

She has since climbed through the ladder of Commission leadership and in May, 2014, she was promoted to the position of Regional Human Rights Officer, Arua Regional Office and thereafter transferred to Fortportal Regional Office under the same position in January, 2019.

Ms. Logose is currently the Regional Human Rights Officer- Central Regional Office, Kampala since February, 2020.

Ms. Logose holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights and Democratisation from the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, South Africa and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. She also attained several professional certificates which are crucial in her career development. These include but not limited to; Certificate in Administrative Law from the School of Law, Makerere University, Human Rights Monitoring, Investigations and Reporting, Human Rights Education, Human Rights Based Approach to Development, Human Rights and Gender Mainstreaming and Advocacy, Women’s Rights, Children’s Rights, Election monitoring and reporting,  Digitalisation of Human Rights, Judicial Enforcement of Socio-Economic Rights, Business and Human Rights, Human Rights of Sexual and Gender Minorities and Transitional Justice; all obtained from the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria and some from the Danish Institute for Human Rights, Denmark.  Ms. Logose also has certificates in Financial Management and Accountability, Human Resource Management and Monitoring and Evaluation.

Ms. Logose is a resourceful human rights trainer and consultant both at national and international level. She has delivered work as a consultant for both government MDAs and Civil Society Organistations both within and outside Uganda. Between 2018 and 2019, Ms. Logose was hired as a consultant for Article 19 West Africa to spearhead a UNDP funded project which was aimed at establishment of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights and Constitutional Affairs of the National Assembly of The Gambia, an assignment she executed excellently. In 2020, she was hired as a consultant/ key trainer for a high level training of the Honorable Members of the National Assembly of The Gambia on Human Rights Standards and Reporting procedures and requirements set out by International and Regional Human Rights bodies/mechanisms such as the UN Human Rights Council, the ACHPR, SADDAC among others.  She also developed a checklist on Human Rights Compliance for The National Assembly of the Gambia to enable the Honorable Members of Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights and Constitutional Affairs to monitor and ensure human rights enforcement and compliance by MDAs and CSOs.

Additionally, working as a consultant, Ms. Logose trained the staff of The Gambia Centre for Victims of Human Rights Violations (GCVHRV) on complaint handling and investigations, women and children’s rights, human rights monitoring, reporting, mediation and reconciliation and peace building and advocacy.

At the National level, Ms. Logose has been and continues to be a key resource person in training of various technical staff under MDAS; such as from the Justice Law and Order Sector Institutions (Police, Prison, Judiciary, DPP), UPDF , Local Government Officials, Staff working under Humanitarian Agencies, CSOs and general citizenry among others.

Ms. Logose has more than fifteen years of practical knowledge, experience and skills in human rights investigation and has led high profile investigations resulting into judicial action and enabled victims of human rights violations to get justice including compensation.

Ms. Logose has relevant experience in working with development partners and managing donor funds such as; for DGF, EU, UNDP, GIZ, UNICEF, JLOS among others. She also possesses good qualities in development of fundable project proposals and management of projects to achieve desired organisational goals.
