Ms. Betty Enangu has 20 years’ experience in the field of human rights, good governance and democratization. She is a passionate human rights defender who joined the Commission in 2003 as a volunteer and rose through the ranks from volunteer, Human Rights Officer, Senior Human Rights Officer and Regional Human Rights officer.

She holds a master’s degree in Human Rights and Democratization from the University of Pretoria, South Africa and a bachelor degree in Mass Communication from Makerere University, Kampala.

She has also attended several Advanced Human Rights Courses that include;

• Conflict management and mediation for NHRIs in East Africa, Centre for Conflict Resolution, Cape town
• Disability Rights in African Context, Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, SA
• The Civil Society Law course, Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, SA.

She’s passionate about social justice for vulnerable groups especially, children, PWDs, and the elderly.
