The Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) is duty-bound to protect and promote human rights in the country. The UHRC puts its clients at the forefront in pursuit of this commitment, as they are the ultimate beneficiaries of the services offered by the Commission. The UHRC is strategically positioned to contribute to the attainment of the majority of the Millennium Development Goals, all National Development Plan Objectives, and the JLOS SIP III outcomes. The UHRC, in line with effective service delivery and compliance with the Paris Principles, was granted an “A” status, the highest and most prestigious categorization of National Human Rights Institutions. This has placed the Commission as an exemplary National Human Rights Institution not only on the African continent but also in the entire world. It is against this background and in the spirit of being responsive to effective service delivery, transparency, and accountability that the Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC) has prepared this Client Charter. The development of this Charter signifies our commitment to serve our clients with a view to creating a better understanding and enhancing our service delivery.
