The Uganda Human Rights Commission is an Institution established under the provisions of Article 51 (1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda (as amended), its legal mandate, functions and powers are enshrined in the UHRC Act of 1997. The main function of the Commission is to protect and promote fundamental Human Rights and freedoms in Uganda.
The Commission would like to strengthen its human resource capacity by recruiting dynamic and self-motivated individuals to complement its current staff in implementation of its mandate as a National Human Rights Institution.
