Regional Human Rights Officer, Soroti

Rebecca is the Regional Human Rights Officer of Soroti Regional Office since July, 2013. Prior to that, she served as a Human Rights Officer/Legal at the Commission’s Central Regional Office after having been confirmed into the Commission service in 2007.

Regional Human Rights Officer, Masaka Regional Office

Mr Farouk Nyende currently heads the Masaka Regional Office. He joined the Commission in 2004, first working in the Directorate of Research, Education and Documentation, and later moved to the Office of the Chairperson. In 2013, he was transferred to head Fort Portal Regional Office where he stayed until mid-2015 when he was transferred to his current station of Masaka.

Regional Human Rights Officer, Mbarara Regional Office

Twembi Theopista is the Regional Human Rights Officer of the Uganda Human Rights Commission Mbarara Regional Office; a post she has held since November 2011 todate. As head of the regional office, she is charged with the responsibility to oversee all the operations of the office by efficiently managing the human, material and financial resources attached to the office.

Regional Human Rights Officer, Central Regional Office

Wilfred Muganga Asiimwe – Regional Human Rights Officer (Head) – Central. Mr Asiimwe has amassed great experience in human rights protection and promotion. He is a consultant, an expert and very resourceful in the promotion of human rights based approach to development. He has been at the fore front of integrating the Human Rights Based Approach to Development in the planning and implementation processes of UHRC, government agencies and nongovernmental organizations.

Regional Human Rights Officer, Moroto Regional Office

He holds a Master of Arts specializing in Ethics and Public Management, Bachelor of Arts from Makerere University, Kampala and other certificates in human rights related fields.

Paul was a Human Rights Officer in charge of Investigations in Moroto, Karamoja region. Karamoja is one of the most difficult areas to access in Uganda because of poor infrastructures and terrains as well as impact of inter tribal conflicts.

He also worked as Lecturer of Social Policy, Research Methods and Philosophy at Nakawa Institute of Commercial studies (NICS), Kampala, Uganda.

Regional Human Rights Officer, Jinja Regional Office.

She  holds a BA (SWSA) from MUK and Masters in Social Sector Planning and Management (MA SSPM) also from MUK.

Prior to joining UHRC, Ms Nakhumitsa worked with Uganda Railways Corporation as Asst Personnel Officer and as Administrative Assistant with Meat Master Plan Study under the MAIF.

Regional Human Rights Officer, Fort Portal Regional Office

Agirembabazi Willy is a sociologist by Profession with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, specializing in Sociology. He also has a Diploma in Leadership Skills.He has a wealth of experience, stretching for over 15 years in human rights work. He worked with the Foundation for African Development, an indigenous human rights Non Governmental Organization for over 8 years in various positions.

Regional Human Rights Officer, Arua Regional Office

Ms. Juliet Logose joined the Commission in May, 2007 as a Volunteer at Soroti Regional Office and in 2008, She was confirmed as a Human Rights Officer in charge Complaints and Investigations. In June, 2014 she was transferred to Arua Regional Office as Regional Human Rights Officer. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University and a certificate in Administrative Law from the same University plus other several certificates in Human Rights and Management Skills.
