Mr Farouk Nyende currently heads the Masaka Regional Office. He joined the Commission in 2004, first working in the Directorate of Research, Education and Documentation, and later moved to the Office of the Chairperson. In 2013, he was transferred to head Fort Portal Regional Office where he stayed until mid-2015 when he was transferred to his current station of Masaka.
Mr Nyende holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration from Islamic University In Uganda, Mbale (2001) and a Master of Arts Degree in Development Studies (specialising in Human Rights, Development and Social Justice) from the International Institute of Social Studies, The Hague – Netherlands (2012). He has attended various short courses including; Good Governance course hosted by the Good Governance Programme, Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, South Africa (2010); Management Skills Improvement course, Uganda Management Institute (2010); Critical Interdisciplinary Course on Children’s Rights, University of Gent, Belgium (2016), among others.
He is passionate about social justice for the disadvantaged and vulnerable groups.
